TERM
The term of a mortgage is the length of time of the contract between the lender and the borrower. The term factors into the calculation of the borrower's monthly payment. In fixed rate mortgages, the longer the term, the lower the payment. In other forms of mortgages, such as balloon mortgages, this formula doesn't hold true.
